Yes superb news, just need some water now. I have read somewhere that Dyfed Powys Police are treating fishing local as within 10 miles of where you live?

First you can't drive, then you can drive, then, on this evening's Welsh News, more confusion as Wales Minister Simon Hart's announcement that you're allowed to drive a distance of between 10 and 15 miles to fish or play golf, was dispelled by Welsh Police Forces. Furthermore, it seems that any driving to these activities or any other form of exercise is still an offence. What the hell is going on and who the hell is going to sort out this confusion on our behalf. Total shambles.

This is rapidly becoming a farcical situation. On the one hand you have two membership driven organisations i.e. Angling Cymru and Angling Trust(an organisation largely representing the interests of anglers in England) claiming to have been in discussion with Welsh Government and successfully arguing that we in Wales should be allowed to drive to our fishing rather than only be allowed to walk. This much welcomed news was released on social media and circulated by some angling clubs to their members on Wednesday. Yet on Welsh News last night(Friday) it was clearly stated that this is not the case.DRIVING to your local fishing (or Golf Course) is not allowed. Where is NRW's voice in all this chaos. As the organisation responsible for angling in Wales and directly linked to the Welsh Gov., it is they who should be informing us of any changes in policy, not a couple of angling organisations who although representing angling interests generally, are always looking for a chance to increase membership. With the main run of Sewin about to enter our Welsh rivers and the majority of our anglers already paid for their permits to fish, we need some clarification and we need it now.

After today's Welsh Gov. Review on easing our way out of Lockdown and reading between the lines, it would appear that driving to exercise, which includes angling, is now OFFICIALLY allowed as from Monday next.i.e. 1st June. A maximum driving distance of 5 miles is recommended if possible but some flexibility is allowed and 12 miles would not be too extreme in exceptional circumstances. So all that remains is to check that your club water is open and that the respective landowners allow you access. A good spate would also be welcome !!
