Update from CFF Chairman.
Quote:
The milk has cleared from Llanwrda and the Dulais and Dave Charlesworth (NRW) has found no evidence of a fish kill.
The waters are cloudy at Llandeilo Bridge and clear at Dryslwyn, so the material will be passing through Golden Grove and Abercothi today most likely.
At this time of year NRW normally request a dam release from Lyn Brianne to assist in smolt migration. NRW have formally requested that Welsh Water initiate this release tomorrow, beginning slowly and ramping up to 6 m3/sec = 20cm on gauge at Manoravon for the next 5 days
The benefits of this will be to both encourage any smolts in the system to drop down, and to increase water velocity in deeper pools downstream to help purge any settling material.
In terms of angling, this equates to a noticeable increase of current flow for the next 5 days, so please alert your members who might be wading that this will be happening.
Many thanks
End quote.

"The river is now running clear where the tanker overturned, but a milk 'slug' is reported to be travelling slowly downstream in the River Tywi, and was last seen near Llandeilo." www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-56756661
