For the second successive season I haven't seen any Finches at my feeders. So far, there have been huge numbers of House Sparrows, a few Blue Tits, a single Coal Tit and Great Tit plus a Robin and a pair of Blackbirds. In the past, Chaffinches and Green finches could be guaranteed to be seen at this time of year, plus the odd Goldfinch. The absence of Chaffinches, in particular, raises cause for concern. Would be keen to hear of any other observations.

As I type I have 6 Goldfinches on my feeder. Nyjer seed brings them in.
I also saw a greenfinch and a chaffinch yesterday. No bullfinches yet. As you said loads of blue tits. Also great tit and coal tit visit each day. Robin and Nuthatch. Three types of sparrows, many blackbirds, two doves, All are welcome although I wish there were less starlings! No siskins yet.
