I know for sure I won’t be using inline barbless next season.
Lost plenty of fishing spinning last season.
For me there is too much movement when the fish hit the rapala/hook.
Season before (Which was very good for Salmon) I didn’t use the inline barbless hooks, and lost nowhere near as many fish.
Just my thoughts after my experiences.

I have now stopped spinning. I use to enjoy fishing countdown rainbow trout rapalas with 2 barbed trebles. I use to loose a lot of fish, especially Sewin. I did buy in-line barbless and converted my lures to barbless singles. However, I have moved on to fly fishing for salmon. I debarb my flies, and have not lost many salmon on the fly.
I haven’t fished for Sewin with a fly for a few years. Fishing at night for Sewin with barbless hooks would be fruitless, they just keep jumping and are so good at throwing barbed hooks, the odds of landing fish with barbless would be so much poorer. Sadly, the Sewin stocks on the Tywi are getting lower and lower.

Yes I agree, I have been saying for the last 5 seasons, Sewin stocks are in a worse state than Salmon in my opinion.
Will be changing to different barbless hooks this season for spinning.

Yes, those hooks look identical to what I was using last season.
It’s maybe that I had a bad hooking season, but I am going to revert back to the previous season’s barbless hooks, as a lot more fish were landed.
Although most seasons on trebles I would lose approx 35-40% of my fish.
that’s sport !
